About Community Pathway Africa

The Community Pathway Africa (CPA) is an international charity established to promote the welfare of the vulnerable in society, especially women and children.

Encouraging them to participate in processes that enhance their equality, self-reliance, and long-term sustainable development.

CPA believes that social issues are interconnected. Approaching problems systemically allows us to fix the root causes rather than just offer symptomatic relief.

We are focused on breaking the cycle of poverty by empowering vulnerable people, especially women and children living in some of England and Ghana’s poorest communities.

Together with our beneficiaries, we design high-impact projects, giving women & children the opportunities, education, healthcare, and skills development that they deserve to improve their quality of life.

In December 2021, we changed our name from Dream Africa Aid to Community Pathway Africa to better reflect our commitment to fighting poverty and exclusion; and strengthening the capacity of disadvantaged communities.

Although our name changed our values, mission, and commitment to women’s and children’s rights remain constant throughout our work.

How we work

In everything we do at CPA, with everyone we deal with, we act in the same way – with love, care, and attention.

In everything we do, we are:
  • Transparent  – explicitly open and unambiguously clear about the processes behind the charity.
  • Impactful – everything is about the tangible impact (on children, Women, community).
  • Supportive  – working closely with beneficiaries (Individuals and Communities) and funding partners to deliver the right development projects.
  • Respectful – treating each person with the utmost respect and empathy.
  • Resolute – bold, steady, unwavering, single-minded (persistent in making the dreams happen, whatever that means).

Accountability to Beneficiaries and Communities Our primary accountability is to the donors and beneficiaries including the communities we serve. To help provide focus on specific practices which enhance accountability to donors and communities, a Programme Accountability Framework (PAF) was developed in 2021 which includes four key principles:
  • Providing Information
  • Consulting with communities
  • Participation
  • Compliance with policies of charity regulatory bodies in the UK and Overseas
